Bison Taco Bowl

Taco bowls are such an easy way to get in a variety of different meat in your diet such as bison and venison!

INGREDIENTS Makes 4 Servings

  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped

  • 2 cups mixed peppers, chopped (I used frozen)

  • 1lb ground bison (I love Force of Nature)

  • 1 packet of taco seasoning (I use Siete)

  • organic salsa

  • 1-2 avocados (sliced or mashed for guac)

  • 1-2 head of organic romaine lettuce

  • Organic cheese + Sour cream (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Prep Time: 5 min Cook Time: 30

In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook meat until done and browned (I don’t drain mine, but you can).

Add 1/4 cup water and 1 packet of taco seasoning, stir until fully combined.

In a separate skillet over low to medium heat, fry up onions and pepper in 1 tbsp butter or avocado oil.

Veggies should take about 5 minuets, wait until they’re fragrant and slightly browned.

While the meat, onions and peppers cook wash and chop up the lettuce.

If making guacamole do so now. I make mine with half a lime juiced, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp cumin and 1/2 tsp cinnamon.

Once everything has been cooked, chopped and prepared its time to build your bowl!

I do lettuce first, meat, peppers, salsa, guac and then top it with a handful of Siete chips.

Enjoy!
