Berry Liver Smoothie
I love finding fun and tasty ways to sneak in organs meats. Did you know an optimal diet should include 25% organ meats?
INGREDIENTS Makes 1 Serving
1 cup liquid (I use 1/2 coconut cream, 1/2 spring water)
1 pasture raised egg yolks (choline an essential nutrient)
1/4 cup wild blue berries (high antioxidants)
1 tbsp raw honey (amino acids + enzymes)
1 tbsp frozen grass fed beef liver
1 tbsp Flax or chia seeds (fat, fiber + thickener)
1/2 tsp maca (hormone balance)
1 scoop flavored collagen or protein powder (I used chocolate Be Well by Kelly)
1 cup Cauliflower rice (adds fiber + thickness)
pink of pink salt (helps with hydration)
INSTRUCTIONS
Prep Time: 1 min Cook Time: 5 min
Add everything to a high speed blender and blend until you get to your desired consistency. I like to garnish with walnuts, coconut flakes and cacao nibs.
Mishi Tip:
I like my smoothies THICK- thick smoothies are easier to digest because you EAT THEM vs drinking.
The motion of eating triggers your body to produce digestive enzymes helping your body to digest all the different ingredients.
If you feel bloated after a smoothie your formula is probably a little off and or you’re slurping it down too fast.
For a thick smoothie start with 1/2 cup of liquid + build in 1 tbsp increments from there. You will have to work w/your blender by stopping and scrape down the sides.
