Green Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
I’ve come up with a fun + functional green smoothie that taste like pie, but nourishes like a garden!
INGREDIENTS Makes 1 Serving
1 cup frozen organic spinach (2 cups non frozen)
1/4 frozen banana 🍌 (for sweetness, or 2 dates soaked)
1/2 cup frozen Pumpkin 🎃 (usually about 3-4 ice cubes)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder or 2 scoops vanilla collagen (I Love Be Well By Kelly)
1/4 cup raw pecans
2 tbsp hemp hearts
1 tsp or more of pumpkin pie spice
Filtered water (see notes)
Optional juice from 1/2 a lemon
Optional 1-2 🥚 yolks or 1 tbsp frozen liver (swear you can’t taste it + increases the nutrient density 10 fold!)
INSTRUCTIONS
Prep Time: 2-3 min Cook Time: 0
Add everything to a high speed blender and blend until you get to your desired consistency or when pecans and hemp hearts have fully blended its probably done. I like to garnish with pecans, coconut flakes and additional pumpkin pie spice.
Mishi Tip:
I like my smoothies THICK- thick smoothies are easier to digest because you EAT THEM vs drinking.
The motion of eating triggers your body to produce digestive enzymes helping your body to digest all the different ingredients.
If you feel bloated after a smoothie your formula is probably a little off and or you’re slurping it down too fast.
For a thick smoothie start with 1/2 cup of liquid + build in 1 tbsp increments from there. You will have to work w/your blender by stopping and scrape down the sides.
If you’re adding in yolks or liver I will only do 1/2 scoop of protein. I aim for 25g protein.
